Real Estate, Resilience, and Raising the Next Generation Right

I recently watched this short clip of a toddler helping his mom carry several empty 5-gallon water bottles into a store. He couldn’t have been more than 2 years old, yet his determination was powerful. He didn’t quit when the bottles fell out of place. He reached, reset, and kept working, focused on contributing and doing it right.
It reminded me of my upbringing. My grandfather served in the military, and his and my grandmother's home was run with structure, discipline, and order. Bedding had military-style folds, and everything had a place. That kind of foundation stays with you; it becomes part of how you live, lead, build, and serve. When raising children, it's important to teach them this because when they leave the nest, they will never depart from their training; it's ingrained in them. They may slip, fall, but they WILL get back up and continue in their journey one step at a time.
In real estate, especially during unpredictable markets, this same mindset matters. We can’t control every economic shift, but we can control our discipline, our response, and how we show up for our clients and communities. And more than that, we can raise and mentor the next generation with the same resilience, clarity, and conviction to stand for what’s right and just.
As Psalm 122:7-8 says, “Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.” May we each keep pushing forward with focus and purpose, no matter the circumstance.
